HipOpCT© relies on CT data of the hip region
to define the three dimensional anatomy of the
patient. Because of this, any patient to be planned
with HipOpCT© must first undergo a CT
session.
Because of ethical reason such session
should be designed to minimise the effective
radiation dose the patient receives at the target
organs. Currently we suggest the following scan
plan, which can be executed only with spiral CT
systems:Once
the CT exam is performed you should have the CT
data transferred to your personal computer and
saved as a directory of image files saved in DICOM
format.
HipOpCT© will retrieve from the DICOM files
not only the image data at full resolution and
with the full range of HU values, but will also
derive from the DICOM header the patient
information that will be written in the planning
report. How to bring CT data from the CT console to
your computer in DICOM format is a complex
issue. Many hospitals today already have this
service in place. Please
check with your radiology
department. |
